The phone stopped ringing with questions the website could answer.

The problem

A logistics business was quoting by email and tracking shipments by phone call. Enquiries arrived unstructured and were lost between inboxes, and every content change needed a developer.

What I built

  1. 01Service pages, careers, news and events, and a sustainability blog, all editable through a Payload CMS admin panel.
  2. 02Shipment tracking and quotation forms that capture structured enquiries instead of free-text email.
  3. 03An order-tracking integration so customers self-serve the question that generated most inbound calls.
  4. 04A documented branching model and schema-migration workflow, so content changes flow between environments safely.
  5. 05Self-hosted on PostgreSQL behind nginx with PM2, matching the client's infrastructure rather than forcing a platform move.

Stack

  • Next.js 16
  • Payload CMS 3
  • PostgreSQL
  • Node 20
  • nginx
  • PM2

Result

Improved lead capture and internal quote tracking, with the team editing their own site and customers answering their own tracking questions.
