The problem

A video house selling to two completely different audiences, corporate marketers commissioning documentaries and brand film, and families planning weddings and funerals, was sending all paid traffic to one generic homepage. Leads that did arrive waited hours for a reply, by which point they had called somebody else.

What I built

  1. 01Per-service landing pages with local SEO and schema, so each ad group lands somewhere that matches its intent instead of a shared homepage.
  2. 02A multi-step lead-qualification questionnaire that sorts a corporate documentary enquiry from a wedding booking before anyone picks up the phone.
  3. 03Instant personalised auto-email to every lead, plus an internal alert, speed-to-lead handled by the system rather than by whoever happens to be at a desk.
  4. 04A Payload CMS backend so the team edits their own content without a developer in the loop.
  5. 05Mobile-first throughout, because most Kenyan traffic is on a phone and the site is video-heavy.
The part most builds skip

How it was measured

  • GA4 with custom events on each step of the qualification flow, so drop-off is visible per question rather than per page.
  • Meta Pixel and Google Ads conversion tracking wired at build time, not bolted on after launch.

Stack

  • Next.js 16
  • Payload CMS 3
  • Supabase Postgres
  • Tailwind
  • Vercel Blob
  • Resend

Result

Live on its own domain, with a free planner tool doing the qualifying, a quote path on every page and WhatsApp one tap away. The tracking was in the build brief from the first commit, which is the whole argument for hiring someone who does both jobs.
