The V Bar
Nairobi's first app-based alcohol delivery. I ran the acquisition and rebuilt the storefront it converts on.

The problem
A delivery business competing on speed was losing customers at the last step. Mobile traffic dominated, most Kenyan customers order from a phone, often late at night, but the checkout had been designed desktop-first, and paid traffic was landing on pages that were never built to convert it.
What I built
- 01Rebuilt the storefront mobile-first on WooCommerce, with a conversion-oriented page architecture rather than a catalogue dump.
- 02Streamlined the checkout to cut the steps between a full cart and a placed order.
- 03Added deep-linking from web into the native mobile apps, so an ad click could land in the app rather than restarting the journey.
- 04Restructured product pages against the bounce data until they held attention.
How it was measured
- Structured A/B tests across ad copy, targeting and landing pages, one variable at a time, with the reasoning documented per result.
- Automated reporting dashboards broken down by campaign, channel and audience segment.
- HubSpot lifecycle email tied to order behaviour, so repeat purchase became a measurable channel rather than a hope.

Result
New users grew over 40%, conversion rate rose 30% off the back of structured testing, and order completion improved 30% after the checkout rebuild. The same person ran the ads and shipped the pages they pointed at, no handoff, no waiting on a dev queue between test and deploy.
