Wanjii Bot

Kenyan businesses already sell in WhatsApp, by hand, one thread at a time. Someone reads every message, checks stock, quotes a price and chases payment, and when they sleep the shop closes. Menu-tree bots were the usual fix, and customers hate them: nobody wants to press 3 for the drinks list when they could just type what they want.

1. 01Free-text ordering. A customer types the way they actually type, and the bot resolves it against the menu using edit-distance matching and an alias table, so "lemon", "lemonade", "cran" and a plain typo all land on the right product.
2. 02One backend, one catalogue, one order pipeline, so a second channel is a connector rather than a rebuild.
3. 03No language model in the ordering path, deliberately. Nothing hallucinates a price, invents a product or agrees to a total that does not match the cart, and there are no tokens to pay for on every message.
